ebm-papst wins the CSR Prize for GreenTech corporate guidelines

ebm-papst has been awarded the German CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Prize for its commitment in the field of energy efficiency and climate protection at a ceremony in Stuttgart attended by State Premier Winfried Kretschmann. For many years, the fan specialist has accepted and embraced its social responsibility in its "GreenTech" corporate guidelines.

The prize-giving was the highlight of the 8th German CSR Forum, which was held during the "Sustainability Days" in Baden-Württemberg.

For many years, the ebm-papst Group has professed to the company's guiding principle that "every new product that we develop has to be better than its predecessor in terms of economy and ecology." At the same time, ebm-papst pays meticulous attention to continual optimisation within its buildings, infrastructure and production. The issues of energy efficiency and sustainability are important elements for the technology leader, even during training. For example, energy scouts, trainees equipped with a thermal imaging camera and air pressure gauge, regularly search for energy saving potential and have already saved some € 100,000 in costs. The latest success of the energy scouts is the start of the "Every day is a GreenDay" campaign.

The company's Technical Operations Manager and Environmental Officer, Markus Mettler accepted the award: "We are very pleased to see our commitment so highly acknowledged by the award of the CSR Prize, and we hope that we have set an example for others."

ebm-papst was nominated in the category "CO2 avoidance as a contribution to environmental protection", together with the companies Clemens Härle from Leutkirch, Studiosus Reisen from Munich and Vaude Sport from Tettnang. The jury of the German CSR Prize – headed by Roland Tichy, Editor-in Chief of the "Wirtschaftswoche" economics journal, and Holger Steltzner, publisher of the FAZ broadsheet daily newspaper – selected the finalists for the German CSR Prize 2012.
