Efficient cooling for demanding electromobility
The charging process in an electric charging station generates heat. Reliable cooling of the system—especially the power modules—is essential to ensure the performance and service life of the charging station are not negatively affected. We offer optimized solutions for all types of charging stations, ranging from residential setups to megawatt charging systems for buses and trucks.
Discover our intelligent cooling solutions
The power source is integrated directly into the charging station in an all-in-one system. In a split system, multiple charging stations are powered by a central unit, the Power Cube. Our fans are ideal for a variety of cooling solutions in both systems. They prevent cables from overheating and provide hotspot cooling of power modules and many other components. This not only ensures proper operation, but also long-term performance and efficiency.
A liquid coolant flows through channels containing temperature-sensitive components in the charging station and Power Cube. It absorbs excess heat and heats itself. A heat exchanger with a fan dissipates the heat into the ambient air and the cycle begins again.
Our efficient fans provide airflow through the charging station. The heat generated during the charging process is removed and cool fresh air is supplied.
The power modules are the heart of a fast-charging station. Fans provide cooling airflow in and around the power modules to efficiently dissipate the heat generated and ensure optimum performance. Liquid cooling systems are also used to cool the power modules. Cooling is important to achieve high charging currents that will quickly charge the electric vehicles.
Certain components of a fast charger, such as the electronics, generate a lot of heat. Special fans are used to cool these areas, known as hotspots, and protect them from overheating.
Charging cables for fast chargers, which carry high charging currents, require a special liquid cooling system. A coolant flows through the cable and absorbs the heat generated during the charging process. A fan with a heat exchanger in the charging station cools the liquid. This enables significantly higher charging capacities, allowing the cable to be made more compact despite the increased charging capacity.
