In his lecture, entitled “Modular Compact Drives – Decentralized Drives with Integrated Intelligence,” Moosmann will talk about using integrated compact drives in decentralized automation. In ebm-papst drives, the drive regulator is integrated directly into the motor housing. In conjunction with an optionally integrated encoder and/or brake, the resulting highly compact drive units can be operated with speed, current or positioning control – and are therefore ideal for decentralized automation. In the future, these intelligent motors will use position information, temperature, speed information, torques, and current values to optimize overall system performance. They will also enable predictive maintenance and condition monitoring. Specialist lecture by Johannes Moosmann: “Modular Compact Drives – Decentralized Drives with Integrated Intelligence” When: June 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. Where: User Conference: Decentralized Automation in the Jaz Hotel Stuttgart www.sv-veranstaltungen.de/automatisieren About Johannes Moosmann Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Johannes Moosmann has worked for ebm-papst in St. Georgen since 2003, initially as a process engineer. After various stations within the company, he took over as director of the Industrial Drive Engineering business unit in St. Georgen in 2011. In this position, he is responsible for the sales, development and product management functions. About the conference The top themes of the user conference on decentralized automation are modular production, pneumatic and mechatronic systems, and intelligent devices – sensors and machines. The specialist conference is targeted to mangers and decision-makers from the automation sector and mechanical and system engineering, as well as users in a wide range of sectors. Süddeutscher Verlag Veranstaltungen GmbH is the conference organizer.
