He graduated from the University of Hartford, CT, USA, with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.

Chairman of the Board of Directors for ECIA (Electronic Components & Industry Association) and serves for the Board of Directors for EDS (Electronic Distribution Show Corporation). 

1986 Application Engineer at Inertia Dynamics (now Altra Industrial Motion).

In 1988 he became a Product Manager at Reliance Electric.

In 1994 ha started working in Sales Management at Rockwell Automation.

Mark Shiring joined ebm‑papst in 1996, when he became a National Sales Manager.

He relocated to China in early 2010 as General Manager for ebm‑papst China with responsibility for the sales and manufacturing operation.

In late 2014 he returned to the US as Executive Vice President for ebm‑papst focused on improving the operation in manufacturing localization and engineering development.

Since 2015 he is President & CEO of ebm‑papst North America and since 2023 also Chief Executive Officer Air Technology Americas.
