He studied Economics at the University of Freiburg and graduated with a diploma in Economics.

He started his professional career in 1997 as an internal revisor IT & Communication with the L-Bank in Karlsruhe.

In 1998, he joined the Beiersdorf Gruppe as the Plant Controller for the tesa plant in Offenburg, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, where he rose to Head of Business Management in 2001.

From 2003 to 2013 he held management positions in various of Beiersdorf’s German and US subsidiaries.  

Engelbrecht started his ebm‑papst career in 2013, when he became Production Manager in St. Georgen and was in charge of six production sites in Germany and Hungary.

Since 2017 he is Managing Director of ebm‑papst St. Georgen GmbH & Co. KG.

Since 2023 he is also Chief Commercial Officer Air Technology for the Europe region as well as the Chief Executive Officer of the divisions IDT and AUT. Together with Thomas Wagner as the Chief Operational Officer, he is the joint lead of the ebm‑papst Air Technology region Europe.
