String Inverter
In a closed system, heat is dissipated from the inside of the PV inverter via a heat sink. An external fan, protected to IP68, provides the necessary airflow over the heat sink to dissipate the heat from the inside to the outside air. Often an additional internal fan ensures even temperature distribution inside the inverter. An air circulation inside the metal casing enhances natural heat convection.


Central Inverter
Air-cooled system:
In an air-cooled system, our powerful fans regulate heat dissipation. The airflow is efficiently adapted to actual demand. This saves energy and ensures that the central PV inverter maintains the correct temperature for maximum performance.
Liquid-cooled system:
A liquid coolant absorbs the waste heat generated inside the PV inverter and is then conducted through an external heat exchanger. A powerful fan from ebm‑papst provides the necessary airflow to cool the coolant with the help of the ambient air. The cycle then starts all over again.
Electronics and hotspot cooling:
Certain parts of the central inverter, such as the electronics, generate a great deal of heat. Our specially designed compact fans provide targeted cooling to these hot spots, ensuring that the system operates efficiently and reliably.
