Ready for anything.

Special-purpose vehicles are used in agriculture and forestry, construction, passenger and freight transport, and even snow and water.

They all have one thing in common, and that’s exposure to various extreme weather conditions: moisture, dust, UV radiation and changing temperatures, to name just a few.

So it’s even more important that their technology is extremely reliable and efficient. With our robust compact fans, we can help you with this!

Find out more about the benchmark from ebm‑papst and ensure high operational reliability in the long term!

Challenging requirements? This is what our compact fans deliver:

Ladestationen und Anlagen

High level of operational reliability

The robust design of our compact fans is engineered to provide maximum operational reliability and zero downtime, even in harsh environments or when exposed to shock and vibration.

Maximum UV resistance

High-quality materials such as plastic and metal protect the sensitive technology from damaging UV radiation.

High EMV resistance

Thanks to EMC protection, the powerful and robust electronics are not affected by interference radiation or interference emission.

Maximum efficiency with minimum noise

Innovative aerodynamics enable our compact fans to operate as quietly as possible, even at high power levels. Quiet interaction and optimized flow characteristics make this possible.

Long service life

The high-quality bearing design of the compact fans ensures that they are very durable and can be used for a wide temperature range.

Effective electronics protection

Electronic and motor components are given maximum protection by fully encapsulating them against dust, water and salt spray, and thanks to ATEX certification.

Successfully tested under extreme conditions.

We can say with certainty that our fan solutions offer maximum operational reliability even under harsh environmental conditions.

This is because we have subjected each of our solutions to the following voluntary and extremely demanding tests:

A number of shock and vibration loads are tested according to a wide range of standards, depending on customer requirements. Shock testing is conducted primarily in accordance with DIN EN 60068-2-27 and DIN EN 60068-2-29, whereas vibration testing is mainly based on DIN EN 60068-2-64 and DIN EN 61373.

This test is used to check the functionality and electrical safety of all equipment components. It simulates exposure to an extremely corrosive environment over a long period of time.

Under test conditions in the temperature cycle from -100 °C to +200 °C, at an increase of 70 K/min and simultaneous shock load of 50 gRMA, the HALT identifies weak points during the development phase.

Over a period of six months, the fans are directly exposed to the influence of water and temperatures ranging from -10 °C to +60 °C. Each device has to undergo a total of 900 test cycles.

In our own EMC laboratory in Mulfingen, we test how our products react to interference and whether they themselves could cause electrical or electromagnetic interference to other devices. We then optimize them accordingly.

Moisture, chemical substances, dust

We test the effect of moisture on our compact fans in accordance with DIN EN ISO 6270-2, water in accordance with DIN EN VDE 0470 and chemically active substances (salt NaCl) in accordance with DIN EN 60068-1-11: 2000-02: Ka.

Schwingen & Schocken

ATEX

Our ATEX certified fans are permitted for use in Group II, Category 3, Zone 2, temperature class up to max. T4. They are optionally available with ATEX certificate and approved in accordance with DIN EN 60079-7.

UV

UV

The plastics we use have demonstrated excellent properties in tests. Samples were exposed to UVC light (short-wave UV radiation peak at 253.7 nm (UVC)) and subjected to a spin test. No negative anomalies or excessive aging of the material were detected.
