In mid-August, heavy rains caused devastating flooding in Slovenia, leading Prime Minister Robert Golob to refer to the event it the largest natural disaster in the country's history. During this challenging time, ebm‑papst stands firmly with the people in Slovenia to provide comprehensive physical and monetary assistance.

Aleš Poljanšek, Managing Director of ebm‑papst Slovenia, confirmed all 600 employees—and their family members—at the subsidiary in the region were spared from the floods.

"Although our local employees have not been directly impacted by the floods, we are deeply shocked by the dimension of this natural disaster,” said Poljanšek. “We immediately initiated local support measures and are in the early stages of the cleanup."

In addition to a substantial five-figure donation, a range of initiatives were launched to bolster the relief endeavors on-site. Those ebm‑papst team members who traveled to the impacted regions to lend their aid were granted dedicated vacation periods. Moreover, at the ebm‑papst Slovenia location, a donation station was established to collect required supplies such as water, hygiene items, food, as well as toys and books for children.

Sonja Fleischer, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of the ebm‑papst Group, explains: "We want to provide targeted help on site. That's why we decided within our Executive Management Board—together with our shareholders Chloë McCracken, Jan Philippiak and Ralf Sturm—that we would contribute to the aid efforts in Slovenia with a generous donation from the ebm‑papst Group. Our Slovenian colleagues, who are also already actively providing on-site support, will ensure the best possible coordination of the donation."
